FAQ’s

Do you take insurance?

I now accept Aetna.

I am otherwise considered an Out of Network provider. For any other insurance plans, I would be happy to provide you with a monthly superbill which you may use to submit to your insurance company. You are responsible to contact your insurance provider in advance to determine whether or not they provide any out-of-network reimbursement coverage.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. You can ask for this before you schedule a service.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical service, including psychotherapy services. Please notify Brave Spaces Therapy if you are uninsured or do not plan to use insurance, and you will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

What should I expect at my first therapy session at Brave Spaces Therapy?

Finding a therapist you can trust and open up to is one of the most important decisions you will make for the success of your therapy journey. We will spend our first session together getting to know one other, and developing goals based on what you hope to get out of therapy. By the end of the first session, we will decide if working together is the best plan of action. You will receive a series of documents to be completed prior to our first appointment together. These documents will include office policies, informed consent, and an assessment intake to tell me a bit about yourself.

What types of clients do you work with?

I specialize in working with teen adolescents and adults, with extensive experience in the treatment of trauma in these demographics.

  • Children (6 to 10)

  • Preteens/Tweens (11 to 13)

  • Adolescents/Teenagers (14 to 19)

  • Adults (20+)

How long does therapy usually take?

The therapeutic process is highly individualized. Every client and circumstance is different. Some clients may find that in just a few sessions they have gained the awareness they need to move forward successfully. Other clients may have a long history of trauma or a lifetime of unhealthy patterns and find that longer-term therapy may be most beneficial for them. Together, we will work to develop goals that are tailored and specific to meet your needs.

Why should I consider therapy?

We all need support from time to time. Does that mean you’re weak? Nope, it means you’re human! Brave Spaces Therapy provides a safe space for children, teens, young adults and families to partner with a professional, highly experienced clinician to help you work through some of the most common hindrances that prevent us from thriving.
